Course Description:
This session of the PDPM Master Class Series will focus on the financial implications of coding (or failing to code) various PDPM characteristics through a review of high risk variables impacting PDPM reimbursement. Actual PDPM audit trends and case studies will be reviewed to identify areas of potential missed opportunity, process lapses, and supportive documentation vulnerabilities. Operational strategies to promote PDPM compliance and coding accuracy in high impact areas will be emphasized.

- Review key operational strategies to drive compliance, coding and supportive documentation accuracy under PDPM in priority areas
Course Content
35 minutes Review PDPM relevant patient characteristics that are high risk for coding and/or
supportive documentation errors and the corresponding rate impact for those
variables using audit case studies
35 minutes Discuss best practices, facility processes, and key operational strategies to reduce
missed opportunities and errors and to prioritize key action items based on the
potential impact to the facility
5 minutes Closing Comments/ Q&A
