Extension on MCO Credentialing of Nursing Facilities
Over the Summer, THCA’s Managed Care Committee has been actively involved in working with HHSC and the Texas Association of Health Plans (TAHP) to share the significant problems that our member nursing facilities are experiencing with the online MCO credentialing. THCA and TAHP requested an extension to the deadline to allow the issues to be worked out. Today we received the following information on an extension granted by HHSC:
“We approved to delay requiring the MCOs to complete credentialing of their network NF providers using our new STAR+PLUS NF credentialing standards until June 30, 2019. We will send a notice about this, and amend the Uniform Managed Care Manual Chapter 8.6, section 2.13 to reflect this date change.”
Thank you to the THCA Managed Care Committee for your continued work on this new system.
