Health Officials Urge Texans to Get a Flu Shot Now
THCA reached out to HHSC regarding administering the 2018-2019 flu vaccine. A News Release from the Department of State Health Services stated that flu vaccines can be administered as soon as the 2018-2019 flu vaccine is available within the provider site.
HHSC included in the alert: “As flu season begins, the Texas Department of State Health Services encourages everyone 6 months old and older to get vaccinated now to protect themselves from getting the flu. Early vaccination is important because it takes about two weeks for the body to make flu antibodies after the vaccine is administered.”
