Region 6 – CMS Emergency Preparedness Boot Camp in Pasadena, TX

HHSC invited Region 6 providers to attend the 2nd CMS Emergency Preparedness Boot Camp for 2019 hosted by SETRAC in coordination with the Pasadena City Office of Emergency Preparedness, the City of Pasadena Public Health, and Office of Homeland Security and the City of Pasadena and Arcadian Ambulance Services.  The Boot Camp will be held from 8am to 4pm on May 22nd.

The Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council, along with local partners, will host this one-day workshop. The CMS Boot Camp Workshop will review the new CMS rules, strategies to meet them and adapt to future changes, define the role of the local Emergency partners, regional and state governments & Coalition involvement. Hands-on workshops for emergency notifications & bed reporting, Exercise building and Facilitation, plan reviews, a Bonus session on area Petroleum-Chemical Industry hazards and response overview and much more!

Morning Sessions:

  • CMS forecasted rule updates and strategies on how to remain in compliance
  • Petroleum-Chemical Industry hazards and response overview
  • Dialysis in Disasters

Afternoon Sessions:

  • Hands-on workshop for emergency notifications and bed reporting system EMResource, including its use during daily activities or during individual and regional events.
  • Exercise building and design session will be included as a breakout workshop where writing specific objectives, scenario building, documentation best practices and requirements are explored.
