2016 Texas Health Care Association Awards Program
NOMINATION’S for THCA’s 2016 Awards Program is Now Open!Elevate your Facility’s Visibility! Take advantage of this membership benefit to have your staff and facility recognized within your community, throughout the state and before the LTC profession! The THCA Awards Program is designed to recognize those who display dedication to compassionate patient/resident care and excellence in the delivery of healthcare/healthcare management, respect for patients/residents, their family and healthcare colleagues. Complete nomination criteria & nominations forms are available in the following categories: Outstanding Administrator: Awarded annually to an Administrator of a THCA Member Nursing Facility that has demonstrated outstanding efforts for their facility, residents and staff. Outstanding Assisted Living Administrator: Awarded annually to an Administrator/Assisted Living Manager of a THCA Assisted Living facility that has demonstrated outstanding efforts for their facility, residents and staff. Ombudsman of the Year: Awarded to an Ombudsman (nominated by a THCA member facility) will demonstrate a true concern for the resident by working with the facility staff, families and community resources. Public Information & Education (PIE) Media Relations: Positive article(s) published between August 2015 and July 2016 that meets one or more of the following criteria: Creativity in Coverage (turning a non-event into a story); Difficulty of coverage (turning a potentially negative event into a positive story); and Consistency (frequency of positive coverage). Public Information & Education (PIE) Community Education: Efforts to educate the local community on long term care issues. This can be accomplished through either an event—town hall meeting, seminar, community forum, etc.—or an ongoing outreach program. D.O.N. of the Year: Awarded annually to a D.O.N. who is innovative in dealing with resident and staff issues, and in the delivery of nursing care in the long term care setting and has shown a dedication to continued professional growth in the long term care nursing field. Nurse Scholarship: Awarded to individuals who would like to further his or her education to continue working in long term care after a certificate, degree and/or diploma is obtained. Regional Facility Nurse of the Year: Awarded to facility based licensed nurses who are innovative in dealing with resident and staff issues, and in the delivery of nursing care in the long term care setting; and had shown a dedication to continued professional growth in the long term care nursing field. Regional C.N.A. of the Year: Awarded to C.N.A.’s that are compassionate, caring, and innovative in dealing with residents, families, and staff, and in the delivery of nursing care in the long term care setting; and has shown a dedication to continued commitment and development.
