DADS Looking for Additional 50 Nursing Home for Participation in Phase II of the Reminiscence Therapy Pilot

DADS is looking for an additional 50 nursing homes to participate in Phase II of the Reminiscence Therapy Pilot to benefit people who have Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. A more complete description of the program is below.

The deadline to submit applications is Feb. 17, 2016.  If your submitted an application for Phase I, and your facility was not chosen, you can apply again.

How Does My Facility Qualify?

Your facility must:

  • Have at least 5 long-stay residents diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia
  • Have an established volunteer engagement program
  • Have an established family council
  • Have a full-time activity director

What Happens If My Facility is Chosen?

Facilities selected for the pilot must agree to:

  • Participate actively in the pilot
  • Participate in a 6-month study
  • Provide data to DADS as requested for the study
  • Expand the program by using Reminiscence Therapy with as many people as possible.
  • Participate in 3-5 mandatory webinars
  • Sign photo and facility name releases
