A BIG THANK YOU! We are very aware of the many hours put in to prepare and host the numerous events that take place in during the holidays in each of your communities, so we’d like to give a BIG THANK YOU for your efforts in making them festive and memorable for your residents, resident families and your staff.

Region Meetings will be starting up again and considering the 86th Texas Legislature will be convening soon, we are kicking-off the year with a “CALL TO ACTION” presentation for all providers which will include discussion on the upcoming session and the current issues THCA is working on to get before our legislators. Guest Speakers will be Kevin Warren, President and CEO of THCA and/or Scot Kibbe, THCA’s Director of Government Relations.

Please plan to attend your upcoming Region Meeting and encourage other long term care providers in your area, both THCA Members and Non-Members, to attend as well. This is a key time for all Skilled Nursing Providers to unite, be as informed as possible, and reach out to our legislators.

THCA Region Meetings scheduled to date are listed below, and others are being finalized. If you do not currently receive meeting notices for your Region, need to know what Region you are located in, or know of a business member that would like to Sponsor a Region Meeting, please contact Gina Muniz at gmuniz@txhca.org.

Leadership Openings: We are currently seeking leadership as a Region Chair for THCA Regions 1 (Panhandle), 5 (North Central Texas) & 6 (East Texas/Southern Louisiana Border).

Eligible candidates will:

Have sufficient time to devote to the affairs of the Association;
Have written approval from ownership (candidate announcement form will be provided);
Be affiliated with a Member Provider facility in good standing and which has held membership for at least one year; and
Have not more than three (30 Director from any ownership currently on the THCA Board of Directors.

Per THCA Bylaws, duties of the Region Chair include: Membership Recruitment & Retention; Membership Networking; Leadership Development; Legislative Activities; and other duties as may be determined by the Board of Directors.

THCA Region 3:

Members in THCA Region 3 will meet over dinner the evening of January 26th at Earl Able’s Restaurant in San Antonio. Meeting notices will be disseminated soon. THCA Region 4:

Members in THCA Region 4 will meet over lunch on January 17th at Papacita’s Mexican Restaurant in Longview. Lunch for attendees is sponsored by THCA Associate Business Member, CMMS X-Ray! THCA Region 7:

Members in THCA Region 7 are tentatively scheduled to meet the week of January 23-27th. Meeting notices will be disseminated once details have been finalized.
