“If Summer had one defining scent, it’d definitely be the smell of barbecue”, Katie Lee
Summer is here! Kids are out of school, traffic patterns have temporarily changed for the better and the reminder of living for the moment and giving of our time to family is ever-present. As we work every day to balance the priorities that exist between our personal and professional responsibilities, we must strive to maintain that balance. If we’re out of balance, then we’re not as effective as we can be for either our professional or personal responsibilities.
I want to thank everyone who was able to join us in Bastrop this past week. We had a great turnout from both our provider members and business community. Having the opportunity to visit with multiple business members and providers throughout the week, it was an opportunity to hear how you all continue to work together on behalf of the residents and communities you serve.
For those of you who were able to join us for the THCA PAC tournament, thank you for your support! The weather, at least until about 12:30p, provided the most comfortable golf weather I can remember. The tournament was a successful fundraiser for the THCA PAC and the ability to support those legislators who support the long-term care profession in Texas.
We have a lot going on in the coming months, so stay tuned. With the implementation of legislation intended to have a positive impact on our profession in Texas, we are actively working with leadership to ensure successful enactment of these new rules and programs that THCA fought for this past session. We will also be working diligently with state leadership and our national partners to find an acceptable pathway to address the Medicaid funding shortfall.
Thank you for all you do for those you serve.
