Also, last month, long term care in Texas and nationally lost a “giving and caring” pillar of the industry, Mr. Dick Stebbins. An Air Force pilot during the Korean War, Mr. Stebbins brought his leadership and determination to the nursing home industry in both Texas and Nevada. A long standing member of THCA and AHCA, Mr. Stebbins served in many leadership capacities at both the state and national levels. Mr. Stebbins was a member of the AHCA Finance Committee and Past President of THCA. Most notably, he was the recipient of the THCA Better Life Award for his years of providing quality long term care and service in Texas. The award symbolizes the highest honor attainable in our long-term care profession in Texas. It is our “Medal of Honor,” signifying a unique and lasting contribution to our profession. Mr. Dick Stebbins met that standard and his contributions to our industry and those he touched will be remembered for years to come.
