The Six New CMS Quality Measures

The following NEW CMS Quality Measures have now been added to Nursing Home Compare.

Five of the measures will be added to Five-Star in July 2016; however, CMS has not yet announced how they will be added or impact your star ratings.

Six NEW Measures

Short-Stay:

1. Discharge to Community (Medicare Claims Based)

2. Emergency Room Use (Medicare Claims Based)

3. Hospitalization (Medicare Claims Based)

4. Improvement in Function Since Admission (MDS Based)

Long-Stay:

5. Decline in Mobility (MDS Based)

6. Use of Hypnotics/Anxiolytics (MDS Based)
