Comments Still Needed on the Requirements of Participation Proposed Rule

As you are probably aware, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently extended the comment period regarding the proposed new rule on Requirements of Participation until October 14, 2015. According to the American Health Care Association (AHCA), nursing facility providers across the country have submitted more than 7,000 comments submitted thus far. However, the association would like to have even more comments submitted to have maximum impact and ensure that providers’ concerns are heard by CMS.

If you visit AHCA’s dedicated webpage, you will find resources to assist in your comment submission. The webpage includes step-by-step instructions on how to write and file comments as well as instructional videos to comments that have already been submitted. Also, your comments can be filed electronically. AHCA will recognize those who submit comments with a special badge ribbon at the AHCA/NCAL’s Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas.
